  2. contribution? To me, his major contribution was to 
  3. explain to people that media have an impact on 
  4. them, independent of the information they carry. 
  5. This was his major contribution: ‚ÄúThe medium is 
  6. the message.‚Äù He said it very succinctly, he was 
  7. warning people that there was a whole new way of 
  8. processing information, a whole new outlook on 
  9. life, on thinking, on scholarship, on education, on 
  10. work. And people were completely unaware of 
  11. these changes. The man was a genius.
